Volunteers are needed to help with a day of conservation work at a local nature reserve.
The day takes place on Saturday 28 January between 10am and 3pm on the Strawberry Line at Winscombe.
Work will involve coppicing and scrub clearance to maintain the wildlife diversity of the site. All tools will be provided as will hot drinks and soup. Volunteers need to bring a packed lunch, waterproof clothing and stout footwear. Wellies may be useful as some of the work is on wet ground.
Everyone is welcome, even if you can only come for an hour or two. Children over ten are also welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times. Parking is available at Winscombe Recreation Ground on the Lynch just off Woodborough Road. Alternatively, to get some more exercise and fresh air, walk south from Winscombe along the Strawberry Line Heritage Trail.
